About Me

I’m a sixty‑something Southern woman, born, raised, and still rooted in the South. I hold a master’s degree in criminology and retired in December 2017 after a 32-year career as the founding CEO of a nonprofit organization. I’m happily married and mom to four furry children: Ruby, Fig, Ellie, and Harlee.

I write the way I talk: a little Southern, a little honest, and always from the heart.

This blog is about life as I know it—my stories and experiences, the things I notice, and the lessons I’m still learning. You’ll find posts on grief and love, happiness and joy, doubts and fears, hopes and dreams.

The topics may shift, but the writing will always be authentic and transparent. Civil comments and conversation are not just welcome, they’re wanted.

If what you read here resonates, I hope you’ll pull up a chair, stay awhile, and come back often. I’d love for you to come along for the journey and see what we can learn from each other.
